my school put me in charge of the posters for LGBTQ acceptance and i kind of just
great job, you just alienated every LGBTQ kid in your school who doesn’t give a crap about your shitty fandoms just so you could make a fucking tumblr post
hope you feel proud of yourself for indulging in your fandom rather than actually making posters that everyone rather than a select few people will actually understand!
Great job, you made someone feel like shit for turning something they enjoy into something that could potentially help others!
They help them from feeling like they’re alone and can even broaden their minds, but no, because people who are in fandoms are classified as ‘fangirls’ and are therefore brushed off. You people think you’re so much better than fandom people, but you’re fucking not. Let them post their fandom shit in the hallways because, you know what, it’s going to fucking attract more attention that some shitty color paper like everything else in high school is printed on. If I saw a picture posted on the wall when I was in school, you can bet your ass I would have stopped to take a look. Those brightly colored papers? Meh, they probably said something I didn’t care about and were thus ignored.
Stop being a dick and take that stick out your ass and maybe then you’ll see that not everyone responds to the same boring shit that you obviously do.
I hope you’re proud of yourself for bullying someone.
i just pissed myself laughing look at this asshat
man you should probably talk to someone. are you okay? are brightly colored papers hurting you? maybe you should talk out your problems with the brightly colored papers.
if you want to ignore the problematic behaviour of fandoms in order to live your life in ‘fandoms do no wrong land’ go right the fuck ahead. forget fetizhisation of queer culture as well as shitty allies - there isn’t a single actual gay person on these posters except for john barrowman, never mind the fact there are no lesbians or transgender individuals nor anyone remotely fucking queer on the posters - and none of these characters ever have to deal with the chance someone might fucking kill them because their way of life is considered an abomination
if you’re actually creating a safe space for queer people then they’re not going to care about your fictional characters on the poster, they’re going to want a safe space to be able to discuss their identities without fear of being fucking judged, not squeeing about what fucking fic of the week it is
and hell even the messages themselves are pandering to allies anyway
FANDOMS HELP PEOPLE yeah well so does nitroglycerin but it can still kill you an nitroglycerin doesn’t fetishize LGBTQ culture nor treat
re-check your definition of bullying by the fucking by, i don’t think you have any idea what ‘bullying’ is
if notes on tumblr and people fawning over your goddamn fandoms is more important than creating safe spaces for LGBTQ individuals then you don’t really care about making a safe space
as much as you care about being able to get notes on a post on tumblr
fuck off. this, for example, is a much better poster campaign because oh look, it treats gays like people and not accessories or things to be squeed over and deals with actual individuals tacking actual fucking problems
and i’d be taking you much more seriously if you weren’t a blog dedicated to glee, a show that is simultaneously terrible at writing queer characters that aren’t kurt hummel aka ryan murphy’s personal mary sue (and even then it’s terribly written because apparently the kid ALWAYS has the moral high ground) and pretty much treats it’s queer women like a joke
have fun, don’t bother coming back. and yeah, i am a little proud of myself, because i don’t pretend we live in a vaccum and i actually care about representation especially when you’re pandering to a sect of people who have nothing to do with anything
you want people to treat non-hetero sexuality and gender identity like something out a fucking television show instead of dealing with it like the real world problem it is, be my guest, but don’t blame me when people treat you like something to be fawned over rather than a human fucking being
First off, shit head, I never fucking said that fandoms do no wrong. I’m in the glee fandom, I’m well fucking aware of the problems and issues, HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that fandoms don’t also foster a sense of not being alone for some people.
I’m only saying one other thing because I’m not going to keep arguing with someone who is just looking for a fight. Maybe they weren’t the wrong way about it, but they’re at least trying to get the word out that being gay is okay and if they chose to use pop culture references, then fucking let them and don’t be a dick bag.
Also, color paper is over used, that’s all I was saying. Maybe you should go talk to some colored paper about your fucking issues.
